About TEG

Our Founding

Tennesseans for Economic Growth (TEG) was founded in March 2011 as a statewide business coalition.  Its initial goal is to help support passage by the Tennessee General Assembly of Governor Bill Haslam’s tort reform legislation.  TEG is a 501(c)(4) membership advocacy organization made up of small, medium and large businesses operating in Tennessee.

TEG strongly believes that Tennessee’s current civil justice system is flawed because it threatens current and future business owners and job creators with unlimited exposure to litigation.  TEG believes that Governor Haslam’s legislation will address the problems of Tennessee’s civil justice system, creating and attracting new jobs to the state by improving Tennessee’s pro-business environment and bringing predictability to our civil justice system.
